Tim Storrier

Painter, Sculptor

Born 1949, Tim spent his early childhood on the family property, ‘Umagarlee’ near Wellington in northern New South Wales. Storrier’s outback upbringing set the stage for much of his work since 1970. Storrier combines a meticulous technical finesse with an emotionally charged, and often theatrical, influence in his work. He strikes a chord with the uncompromising reality of the

Australian landscape, its limitless space and boundaries. Awarded an AM for his services to art in Australia in 1994, a Doctor of Arts by Charles Sturt University in 2003 and winner of the 2012 Archibald Prize, Storrier’s work is prolific both in Australia and overseas.

His art is exhibited in collections in the National Gallery of Australia, the Louvre Museum in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National and Tate Galleries in London, and is included in all Australian state and regional gallery collections and leading private collections.
